K30 Tip-up Drivers Seat
The K30 was the end product of a demand for a driver’s seat that could be used as:
1. A full normal seat.
2. A perch seat.
3. A seat sliding into a bulk head recess enabling driving while standing and access/exit from a very small cab.
Complicated by the need also to meet the ergonomic requirements of the 95th percentile oriental and occidental measurements. The client then KCRC of Hong Kong had small far eastern women as drivers at one possible end of the scale, and 6 foot 4 inches tall western males at the other. A K10 folding base with specially designed and tested frame housing to contain the 30cm pure horizontal and 30 cm pure vertical adjustment mechanisms addressed all of the challenges.
